Buy Website Traffic in 4 Easy Steps

Buying traffic is similar to buying pretty much anything else. You need to know how to use it and why do you need to buy website traffic in the first place.

Sure, you could just go on a spending spree and buy whatever webtraffic you find. But we’ll assume that you’re a sane person and you prefer making smart choices… 😉 Here are the 4 most important question you need to ask yourself before buying website traffic.

1. What type of traffic do I need? What are my goals?

If you decided to buy website traffic it means that you’d like to resolve a problem – whether its a high bounce rate, low activity levels, poor SERP results or simply not enough visitors showing in your website’s analytics. It is important that you understand what issue you’d like to resolve, as it will help you select the type of traffic that will work best for your unique situation.

Some providers offer just a single type of traffic, claiming that it ticks all of the boxes at once but if something is supposed to be great for all purposes – it often isn’t very good for any of them. It is usually best to get a product or service that will tackle your particular problem, rather than one that is supposed to fix everything at once. Remember – if something sounds too good to be true – it probably is.

2. How many visitors do I actually need?

This is a very important question that you need to ask yourself before you buy website traffic. It is also closely connected with your goals. If you need to increase the bounce rate – by how much? How many visitors would you like to see in your Google Analytics? Does your website have Google AdSense (or other ads) enabled?

If you do have ads enabled, we recommend using less than 50% paid traffic (of the total traffic your website receives) and use it in addition to your organic traffic. Google seems to be quite sensitive to sudden traffic spikes (both up and down) so always try to grow your traffic over time and don’t stop it suddenly. Good traffic providers will help you gradually increase the daily volume of traffic your URL receives.

3. What Niche and GEOs do I need?

This is more or less self-explanatory. If your website explains what Bitcoin is and where to buy it – you should select “Bitcoin” or “Cryptocurrency” as your niche. Selecting “Home improvement” may not bring you expected results – unless you’d like to reach people from another vertical. But again – you need to understand what you’d like to achieve.

The same goes for the GEO (country). If you buy website traffic for a website full of content written in French, targeting China may not be the best idea. For most English-language websites worldwide traffic will work just fine (as people in most countries know English to some extent). However, it usually makes sense to buy website traffic from a specific country.

4. How long should I spread the traffic over?

As with the total number of visitors you need, this is closely related to your goals. If your Adsense-enabled website receives 100 visitors per day – suddenly adding an extra 1000 per day may not look very well from Google’s perspective. If you’d like to increase your Alexa ranking or SERP results it is usually a good idea to keep the traffic flowing for at least 60-90 days to see the desired results. And as we’ve mentioned before – we recommend that you avoid exceeding 50% of paid traffic out of your total traffic numbers.

So should I buy website traffic?

Buying website traffic can be helpful, profitable and fun (watching those numbers grow is super-satisfying!). But remember to take some time and think about the points listed above. It will help you to make sure that you know why you need traffic, what type of traffic do you need and how to make your traffic campaign a success.
